Inspect before sharing
A metadata viewer helps you understand what is present. Location, serial number, owner, copyright and capture-time fields deserve particular attention when publishing publicly.
Re-encode a clean copy
A pixel-only re-encode removes EXIF, GPS, XMP and embedded thumbnails. It can also change compression, so download and inspect the clean copy rather than overwriting the original.
Keep metadata when it matters
Archives, evidence workflows and professional asset libraries may depend on metadata. Remove it from a sharing copy, not from the only master file.
